Sizing inconsistent

Love the style of this shirt, I am short waisted so the shorter length and curved hem suits me well. Fabric is good quality cotton poplin, light but crisp. Washed well without too much creasing. I am a regular 10-12, took a risk and bought the last size M on final sale. A great bargain, but it’s a tad too small (should have got a L).
I unfortunately can’t exchange or return - I find that the sizing varies depending on the garment because I am size M with many other styles. Also my order went to another customer, and I received theirs - delivery address stickers were mixed up. It was sorted out with customer service, communication was good, it just meant an extra wait to receive my order. Despite this I will remain a regular customer, quality is good and purchasing/return process is easy.
